About This

I’m a measly Civil Engineering student with a strong passion for the workings of the stock exchange(s).  I have been a student of investing/trading since 1998…originally thinking that I was going to bank shitloads of money by my mid 20′s and be wealthy beyond my wildest dreams.  Well, things didn’t exactly pan out that way…it’s taken me 12 years just to get to the point where I feel comfortable.  My education has taken place through investing, and losing, real money.  Through a significant amount of research, I realized that the key to (my) investment success would be through the application of strict money management.  Therefore, managing losses is the primary tenet of my trading strategy…as long as I am able to preserve the trading capital, eventually, though enough experience and research, I’m going to find an edge and be able to exploit it to my benefit.  For quite some time, I have felt like I am ‘close’…I am hoping this blog can help me to express my thoughts and ideas to possibly provide additional insight/inspiration to break through.  Lastly, I’m fucking stupid…I’m not going to try and sugar coat my lousy investment decisions, I’m laying everything out there for all to see…so if I fuck up and make a decision that stupidly loses money, I’ll own it.  I think the best way to learn is by making mistakes, and I plan on making plenty of them.

My second passion involves the band Phish, so at the end of each blog post I’m going to include a song or two from live concerts past. I have an essentially limitless supply of their music, so I promise that portion of the blog will never get boring. If you have never really given the band a chance or heard the band, I urge you to drop the preconceived notions you might have and just fucking listen. I’ve heard countless people over the years ignorantly tell me that “Phish sucks”. Well, if they aren’t your thing, I understand that…but “sucks”? Come on…if you at all enjoy rock and roll, you can probably enjoy Phish, to a certain extent.

Anyway, it would be fucking fantastic if I was able to turn someone onto either one of the main focal points of the blog. All of my narrative is going to be directed toward analysis of the stock market, I’ll let the music speak for itself. I’m going to try and keep the stock analysis simple with plenty of charts to accompany and illustrate what I’m talking about…hopefully my style of writing and analysis can maintain a level of interest great enough to bring people back…and if not, you can always tune in and listen to some choice Phish.

I’m glad to have you along for the ride. Enjoy.
